Biography

Scott Ian has gone from rocking the stage to rocking the poker tables. And he's come a long way from the occasional amateur poker game he played while rolling on a tour bus in the ‘80s.

"I sucked," says the Anthrax guitarist of the early days in his poker career. "I had no idea what I was doing. My first tournament win was mostly because I had amazing cards. My instinct was all I had."

Fast-forward to today and the story is completely different. The Anthrax guitarist can be seen tearing up the tables at UB.net and playing to win at the world's biggest poker tournaments.

So how did Scott Ian go from guitar chips to poker chips? It began in 2007 when he won his seat in the 2007 Aruba Poker Classic after winning VH1's Rock Stars of Poker charity Texas Hold'em tournament.

It was in Aruba while spending a week with Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke that Scott Ian was introduced to the pro poker world. Scott left Aruba with not much of a tan but with some of the best poker insight on the planet.

Over the next several months, he practiced his online poker skills both on his own and with Annie Duke, and ultimately took his game to a whole new level.

As a member of Team UB, Scott Ian can be found rocking the tables at UB.net. "I'm either a shark because I'm always moving forward or a big cat because I'm always thinking about my next meal."

You may be his next meal. You've been warned.
